Modern Tactics 4

Hey guys, I know you're all excited for Modern Tactics 4 as much as I am so here is a list of features:

The game will be more like MT3 rather than KT2!
No money or rank system. Equipment, guns and outfits will be found from completing missions.
Three campaigns, terrorist ops, special ops and main campaign. Total of 35 maps.
24 guns, yes including rockets!
Secret guns, outfits and cheats
editor, with downloadable maps
A story with a main character
Three environments snow, sand, grassy
Filters, such as, night, snowing, snow storm, sand storm.
Equip multiple attachments and abilities!
And more!

Modern Tactics 4 will be my best flash game. I will try to release a public demo by March 30 to boost hype. I know a lot of people have lost confidence in my games lately. This should counter that.

Very nice. I can't wait to see the demo. But I cannot stress enough: DO NOT RUSH!!!! If you can't make your deadline without sacrificing something, push back the deadline. Getting a good game late is better than getting a bad one on time.

Make sure when you do CUP units make them like Defence or Offence and add games like Command post battle and chaputre the Flag and other stuff :) other then that WOW

Nah, money system is too flawed. Theres no way to make a money system where you can't grind low levels until you have uber people. At least with a level based unlock system, it involves some strategy to beat enemies with better weapons instead of giving everyone the best equipment and mindlessly attacking them

@TehGuest that can also create a problem because, if lautan does it pickup to unlock then there's a slim chance that weapon might not b on an enemy, and if he does it beat level to unlock, then it will look weird if those enemy's don't have that weapon

Also a Weapon suggestion, 50. Beowulf, if you want make it hard to unlock. It's basically a m4, except with crazy recoil kuz it uses 50 cal bullets

No, the enemys can have the weapon before you unlock it, similar to KT2 where to unlock a class you have to beat the mission that introduces it. That gives you a chance to see its weaknesses and strengths, and outfit your party accordingly. Beating a mission where the enemy has the weapon first also points out that the weapon is not invincible and can indeed be beaten

2)please put a limit on weapon equips, or else people could make like a 50. cal 1 hit kill sniper with noob tube or something like that and that would be messed...
also i like the idea with fog of war, adds a good effect but u should be able to toggle it on or off.

I would like at least a leveling system for each of my soldiers

1) .50 cal one shot, unless your in prone and aiming, then it's two could be an option.
2) Weapon limits could be fine, but it could be defined as weight? This could work with leveling system... Higher level, more weight it could carry.

And also something to work with environment, weapons,equipments and attachments are effective in different environments. Like, during a storm, any grenade tossed will have a small chance of arriving at designated location. Also, night vision during night allows more range, but in light decreases range

Environment effects and mortars would only serve to make the game over complicated, not to mention they would be a bitch to program (how would you program an AI mortar that wouldn't be pinpoint accurate and a huge pain in the ass?)

i guess, maybe as like an unlockable when you beat the game and you can equip it to one of your guys, or maybe make so that two men have to have it equipped so you can use it

i dont think that the mortar wouldnt be a good idea because then people would camp with an endless amount of explosives and just fire at the other side of the map and have the entire team cover him. it would be a good idea for a really really big map with like 20 vs 20 maybe but not with a squad based game.

Here's a suggestion(don't worry; I don't want a tactical nuke!): if you bring this to other gaming sites, you should make one of the features available only at TTP so you can get more people to come to your site! Anything that like would probably bring more people to support you and your site or completely backfire and cause the population to flame you. Yeah.

ok your game needs some other game modes like CTF or S&D. team deathmatches can get boring after awhile i think the game would be more replayable with additional modes.

If you can just pick stuff up, then the enemy will always be weaker than you, or you will just get the best stuff in the beginning. Also, if you don't get money or experience, how do you get abilities like sprint, or the other stuff you said before? Picking up Steroids? I would really like to see leveling up for the abilities, and money for the weapons, armor, and attachments.

This is LAUTAN'S site, HIS games, so your opinion on the matter is firstly irrelevant, and secondly nonsensical idiocy. Lautan makes these games because he enjoys doing it. He doesn't care about your opinion of it, he probably doesn't even care about the end result, he cares about MAKING the games. If he wants to do it this way, he can do it this way. If he wants to experiment, let him. If you had any respect, you wouldn't be making comments like that. samdaman show some respect for people who are more time on TTP than you. i see you have no idea how stuff works here. if lautan says he removes rank system- nobody will stop him. i think rank system is old and boring and if lautan balanced "no rank" system it would work much better. and pretty much everyone here has beaten every lautan's game like 10 times, including dragon. so stop being asshole and try to respect mods, because if lautan made dragon a mod, it means that he IS smarter or better than ordinary member like you

Lautan, I have a question. When you say that stuff is found from completing missions, do you mean you get one, or that you get to equip as much as you want, like the unlock system in MT3. I'm not acting like im more important than you, atleast that is not the way i feel, though in terms of power, i am, but thats irrelevant. As a relatively intelligent human being, i simply thought that you really shouldn't assume things. Think it through - would PAID anti-terrorists pick up enemy weapons? really? I just found it painfully obvious, and was angered at other peoples behavious on the matter.

for the record, B25, one of my jobs IS to set an example. Its also to keep the peace and help people, and if that means explaining something, however i go about that, then i'll do it the way I deem best. You don't have to like my methods, you just have to acknowledge them. I try to be a public person, in fact, most people who've known me for a while know i'm very open and down-to-earth, quite a people person, so dont call me stuck up. Secondly,i was calm. WHat, did you think i was sat here screaming at the computer in fury? Really? No, because strangely enough, i was calm, and simply gave across my opinion in a strciter mannerism than was intended. If i was angry, which i wasn't, i would probably of insulted you with something along the lines of; you are a complete idiot that should never be allowed to have children as your genes are obviously incapable of holding intelligence and act like 4yr olds on sugar rush.

Everything is being planned out smoothly. I'm not rushing this game at all.

i think u should be a lone soldgier going on a venddetta and u find people that join you, then after a while you can buy people and stuff. Also you should have to travel to a shop during a mission.
